武満徹の映画音楽｜沈黙と音を映像制作に活かす視点
武満徹（1930-1996）は、1930年に東京で生まれ、幼少期の一部を旧満州（中国・大連）で過ごした。少年期に終戦を迎え、日本復員後は進駐軍放送などを通じて初めて西洋音楽に触れる。その際に耳にしたシャンソン曲「パルレ・モア・ダムール」に衝撃を受け、「音楽で生きる」決意を固めたと後年語っている。正式な音楽教育は受けず独学だったが、戦後の混乱期にジャズやフランス近代音楽、前衛音楽に傾倒し、作曲家・清瀬保二に師事して作曲技法を学んだ。
